The CaratScreenPen needs a very small amount of a harmless electrolyte-liquid included into the probe tip when measuring. Due to its limited volume, the pen only has a certain lifetime because under a certain liquid level, a reliable measurement cannot be guaranteed anymore. If you should notice deviating values or calibration errors after some time, you should replace the pen.
Small amounts of spilling during transport or longer storage is normal. The excess liquid can be wiped off with a piece of cloth and has no harmful effect on your health. However, if the pen leaks during the measurement, pelase contact us.
