KC ingot mold - insert

Caratteristiche
The Christian Koch KC ingot mold, also known internationally as the KC Ingot Mold, is a modular system for producing sheet and wire semi-finished products. Developed directly from workshop practice, it combines the proven principle of chill casting with significantly simplified handling for a clean, fast, and reproducible casting process.

At the center of the system are two precisely machined cylindrical halves that are inserted into a precisely fitting special sleeve. Two O-rings press the mold halves together and align them exactly, so that no screws or clamps are required. This allows the mold to be opened and closed quickly and noticeably reduces the number of handling steps in day-to-day work. This is supported by the large pouring funnel with a diameter of approx. 40 mm, which promotes rapid metal flow and makes controlled, clean pouring significantly easier.
The solid construction supports rapid solidification of the melt and thereby promotes high casting quality. At the same time, the KC ingot mold is designed for an efficient and reliable workflow: fewer handling steps, easy operation, and reliable integration into common casting machines facilitate the production of high-quality semi-finished products both in professional use and in training and entry-level applications. Once a special sleeve is available, all inserts can be used flexibly within the same system.

The KC ingot mold is manufactured by a family business in the Stubai Valley in Austria. All components are made of solid stainless steel and are designed for durability, precision, and long-term use in the workshop.

Product advantages at a glance:
  • Modular system for sheet and wire semi-finished products
  • Tool-free fixation by means of two O-rings
  • No screws or clamps required
  • Large pouring funnel for controlled metal flow
  • Quick opening and closing of the mold
  • Suitable for use in common casting machines
  • Purchase the special sleeve once, then add inserts flexibly
  • Manufactured in Austria from solid stainless steel /ul>
Application notes:
  • For clean demolding, the insert should be treated with a suitable release agent before casting.
  • Boron nitride spray is particularly suitable, especially at high temperatures and with demanding alloys.
  • Alternatively, traditional sooting can also be used.
  • The mold halves should only be preheated moderately.
  • An additional casting head or extra material allowance is recommended in order to compensate for shrinkage during solidification.
  • The O-rings should be lightly oiled from time to time so that inserting and removing the mold halves remains smooth.

Ordering information:
  • At least one insert and one special sleeve are required for operation.
  • The special sleeve is not included with the individual inserts.
  • If a suitable special sleeve is already available, additional inserts can be used without purchasing another sleeve. /ul>
